Greetings, Enclosed in this .ZIP file are three utilities for use with Windows 3.0. They were designed to each do one specific function only. The idea was to use them in the LAUNCH program. If you are not as yet using LAUNCH I highly recommend downloading it from CIS - MSWIN. It is quite useful for launching programs without incuring the overhead of invoking progrman manager. File Purpose ---- ------- RUN.EXE Similar in function to program manager's RUN. Also includes a history function. LOADRUN.EXE Edit the LOAD= and RUN= lines of WIN.INI. NULLWIN.EXE Finally, a windows program that intentionally does nothing. See discussion below. Uses in LAUNCH: - RUN and LOADRUN are straightforward. Simply add lines to the LAUNCH.INI file, after moving them to the windows directory. Run...= RUN.EXE LoadRun= LOADRUN.EXE - NULLWIN is designed to overcome a current shortcoming of LAUNCH, i.e. the unavailability of separators. Add separators by following the example below. --------= NULLWIN.EXE -- Utils --= NULLWIN.EXE The only reason NULLWIN.EXE is needed is that LAUNCH will attempt to execute whatever is to the right of the equal sign, even blanks. Should you inadvertently click on a separator without the NULLWIN.EXE you would receive an error. For comments or answers to questions I can be reached via CompuServe. Dan Schless 76217,763
